Welcome to the EL Maida Shriners! The Shriners are best known for their colorful parades, distinctive red fezes and national philanthropy designed to help children in need. Shriners International describes itself as a fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. Throughout North America there are over 190 Shrine Temples, or charters. Whether you are a member or just enjoy our parades or circuses from afar, we welcome you to our site.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of pediatric specialty hospitals, founded by the Shrine, where children under the age of 18 receive excellent medical care. There are 18 orthopedic Shriners Hospitals, three Shriners Hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns, and one Shriners Hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care. Shriners Hospitals are located throughout North America – 20 in the United States and one each in Mexico and Canada. These “Centers of Excellence” serve as major referral centers for children with complex orthopedic and burn problems.
Shriners Hospitals for Children, and IHOP will team up to promote children’s health as part of IHOP’s National Pancake Day Celebration. IHOP has designated Shriners Hospitals for Children to be its charity of choice on National Pancake Day in El Paso, Texas.
Participating IHOP restaurants statewide will be giving away free stacks of pancakes on March 8th.
Shriners, recognizable by the fezzes they wear on their heads, the little cars they drive, and the clowns in the parades will be present to share information about Shriners Hospitals for Children, a national system of hospitals dedicated to providing orthopedic and burn care to children, regardless of the patients ability to pay, Start Now, go visit an IHOP and make a $5 donation, then visit again on March 8th for Free pancakes.
